Sea of Faces

I thought I wrote sea of feces for the title. Hehe.
I’m hardly in the mood for jokes, but that’s ok. One won’t hurt. Winnie left me and went to Sabah this weekend for a press junket, and I was left to my own devices. Friday night didn’t pan out as I had hoped because of [...]

It’s Always Better With People

Adam Lee, Sarah Chan, my mom, me, my aunt and Winnie in the front.

Adam and me after the launch, dead tired but glowing
The gala is over. The launch is over. It was a highly stressful couple of days, what with sleep deprivation, annoying people, time crunching, heavy lifting and the lack of food! [...]

No dialogue for you!

Attack of the Anti-Interfaith-Dialoguers *term changed because, t-boy made very valid point* , oh so typically scared, close-minded Malaysian BS. Thanks to Najah and Sir Moose for the tip.

Regaining Hope

 St. John’s Cathedral at dusk.
I’ve been a bit under the weather lately. Election season always does this to me. It seems that politicians get more stupid, and are often afflicted with Foot In Mouth disease, and it doesn’t help that there are glaringly obvious indiscretions that are highlighted more so around this time when they [...]

The Red Devils Aren’t Coming.

I’m not a huge fan of Manchester United, (that is another story for another day) but having them come to our region, well, it’s exciting, to say the least. We’re starved of proper entertainment in music (Oasis went to Singabloodypore!) and comedy (Rusell Peters didn’t make the cut) and good theater (Phatom of the Opera, [...]

Apologies

My head is in a whir. We’re closing our June issue right now. My article is finally finished and we’re working on the illustrations for it now. They are lookig very awesome. Shahril Nizam, is doing them, so you guys should watch out for June’s issue, simply because his illustrations are top-notch! And of course, [...]

Celebrating Freedom, Celebrating Malaysia

Press freedom in Malaysia hasn’t and isn’t always the best example of freedom of speech. Despite loosening controls, many of us, due to past occurrences, continue to self-censor for fear that we will suffer the wrath of powers-that-be in the name of truth.

So when World Press Freedom day comes along this year, we should laud [...]

Partially Happy Ending?

God knows how many more cases like these hang in the balance. It is just me, or are these rehabilitation cases becoming the latest trend among religious authorities in Malaysia?

Solitude

I’m at the office listening to music, the Yeah Yeah Yeah’s and working on my story on a Public Holiday. I am surprisingly happy.
Looks like some things turn out OK after all.
